Did the COVID Vaccine Lead to Paralysis and Blindness for Jamie Foxx?

The mysterious medical condition of Jamie Foxx has sparked a flurry of speculation, with mounting claims suggesting that the actor's debilitating health issues are a direct result of receiving a COVID vaccine.

In early April, it was disclosed that Foxx, aged 55, had been hospitalized due to an unspecified "medical complication." While his daughter, Corinne Foxx, later provided an update assuring the public that he was on the road to recovery, the details surrounding his condition remain shrouded in uncertainty. With so many unanswered questions about the Oscar-winning actor's health and the causes behind his affliction, numerous theories have emerged seeking to shed light on this perplexing situation.

A number of influential voices on Twitter, including the conservative comedy duo The Hodgetwins with their two million followers, have repeatedly alleged that Foxx's recent health setbacks can be traced back to complications arising from the COVID-19 vaccine. In a widely viewed tweet garnering 2.5 million impressions and thousands of likes, retweets, and comments, The Hodgetwins claimed that Foxx has been left "paralyzed and blind" due to the vaccine. Their assertions were also amplified by the Twitter account @catturd2, boasting 1.7 million followers, who expressed hopes that people would finally awaken to the malevolent forces behind this vaccine mandate, writing, "I hope people will finally wake up to the evil demons who forced this BS on everyone."

These allegations were initially voiced by gossip columnist and podcast host A.J. Benza during an appearance on the Ask Dr. Drew podcast, helmed by renowned media personality and physician Dr. Drew Pinsky. Benza asserted that Foxx suffered a blood clot in his brain after succumbing to pressure and receiving the vaccine, against his own wishes. According to Benza, this blood clot resulted in partial paralysis and blindness. While Benza admitted to lacking firsthand information, he claimed to have received this account from an anonymous insider who alleged that Foxx indeed experienced a brain clot.

Furthermore, Benza cast doubt on Corinne Foxx's earlier statement posted on Instagram on May 12, in which she provided an optimistic update on her father's health. Benza accused Corinne of disseminating falsehoods, stating, "It was all baloney what they were reporting. 'He's playing pickleball, he's responding.' No, he's not. It's all lies."

However, it is important to note that the claims made by Benza and other proponents of this narrative remain unverified and lack substantiation. The public has only been made aware of Foxx's hospitalization due to a "medical complication." Reports have circulated that his family was seen visiting him at a physical rehabilitation center in Chicago, but no further updates have been provided since Corinne's Instagram post.

During the podcast, Dr. Drew clarified that Benza's assertion of a "blood clot in the brain" was likely incorrect, suggesting that he may have been referring to a stroke caused by a blood clot obstructing blood flow to the brain.

While it is true that certain COVID-19 vaccines have been associated with rare cases of blood clotting, as reported by multiple medical journals, it is worth noting that the prevalence of such complications is significantly lower than the risk of developing blood clots due to a COVID-19 infection itself. Studies have indicated a slightly elevated risk of blood clots with vaccines such as AstraZeneca-Oxford and Johnson & Johnson, but no credible evidence currently links mRNA vaccines, like Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, to similar risks.

The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System documented around 60 cases of thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome, a clotting disorder, out of approximately 18 million recipients of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, resulting in nine fatalities. It should be noted, however, that the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is no longer in use in the United States, as confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Given that Hollywood's mandatory on-set vaccination protocols concluded on May 12, there is a possibility that Foxx may have received a vaccine to continue working in the film and television industry. However, there is currently no information available regarding the specifics of his vaccination status or the type of vaccine administered, if any.

Final Thought:

While the precise details of Jamie Foxx's health condition remain uncertain, there is presently no concrete evidence supporting the claim that he is "paralyzed and blind" or that his "medical complication" is directly tied to a COVID vaccine. While it is acknowledged that certain vaccines have been associated with rare instances of blood clotting, these incidents cannot be definitively linked to Foxx's situation.
